A research letter published in the journal Tobacco Control lists 21 vaping-related entities offering scholarships ranging from $300 to $ 5000 to high school and college students in USA. Some entities offered more than one type of scholarship.
The criteria for scholarship being writing an essay based on questions such as what are the different types of e-cigarettes, which one would the student recommend to his or her friends or acquaintances, and why does the student think vaping is a safer option than conventional smoking?
The research points out that most scholarships offered included prompts related to e-cigarettes or asked the student to share benefits of vaping.
