senOcare and holistic care for the elderly

India hosts the second-highest elderly population after China. With over 138 million elderly people in India in 2021, it is important to cater to their needs holistically. Learn how senOcare is doing that.

India hosts the second-highest elderly population after China. With over 138 million elderly people in India in 2021. It is important to pay attention to this growing subset of our population. There are 67 elderly men and 71 elderly women in India at the time. It is estimated that the number has risen by 32.7% between the years 2011-21. While at the same time the general population has rised only by 12.4%

During the outbreak of Covid in 2020,  Punita Khatter realised that many elderly are living without the basic amenities along with emotional needs of love and care. To fill this void, she decided to quit her travel and events venture MICE & More Services and started a 24-hour personalised elder care service platform called senOcare.

For this venture, Sarthak Khanna and IIM Banglore graduate Sanjana Punita joined hands with Khatter. The venture has a subscription model where customers can either choose short-term commitment or long-term engagement. They have over 65 services for the elderly population.

The services are classified under 6 major brackets that include - health and fitness, forms and filings, home and maintenance, travel and tours, technology and troubleshooting and lastly, memories and milestones. Their goal id to provide services and solutions with uncompromised professionalism, compassion and accountability.

Since their inception, they have provided holistic care for elderly patients and have emerged as market leaders. They have collaborated with Urban Company, Medanta Hospital, 01 MG, 98.4 Pharmacy, SRL Pathlabs, Mahajan and more. They are currently present in Delhi, Gurugram and Noida. They have realised that they alone cannot provide services to the entire elder population of India.

senOcare was nominated for the National President Eldercare Council by the Women's Indian Chamber of Commerce & Industry. They have also opened the senOcare Pehal India Foundation with the aim to train the helping hands to provide the highest standards of eldercare. This accomplishment of the venture is possible due to them letting the old age become the second phase of childhood in one’s life. Will senOcare help elders live their fullest and healthiest lives in their second innings?
