Sparrow Ionia nurse wins international award in patient care

Catharina Green works as an emergency department nurse at Sparrow Ionia Hospital, USA.

Sparrow Health Systems in its press release announced that Catharina ‘Cat’ Green from Sparrow Ionia has won the ‘Daisy Award’ for extraordinary nurses in recognition of her patient-centred approach care. She has been working in emergency department at Sparrow Ionia as a nurse since August 2015.

Daisy Award, an international programme, rewards and celebrates the compassionate and skilful care given by nurses. Green has been consistently recognised through patient comments for her compassionate approach towards her patients.

Green received a certificate, a Daisy Pin and a stone sculpture called ‘Health Touch’ which is hand carved by artists of the Shona Tribe in Zimbabwe. It depicts the embracing relationship nurses have with their patients.
