The event was postponed by the football's world governing body on Saturday, thanks to the steeping Coronavirus spread.

After a number of world-class sports events like IPL, Olympics, NBA got rescheduled or cancelled to avoid gathering  sports complex and stadiums, to avoid congregation of people amid COVID-19 pandemic, the FIFA U-17 Women's World Cup, which was about to be hosted by India in November too felt the heat of it. 

The event was postponed by the football's world governing body on Saturday, thanks to the steeping Coronavirus spread. The event was scheduled to be held from November 2 to November 21 at five venues in India. FIFA-Confederation working group created by Bureau of the FIFA Council to address the Coronavirus pandemics issued this decision. The group also postponed FIFA Under-20 Women's World Cup Panama/Costa Rica 2020 which scheduled in August-September.
