Indian mental health app, heyy has received $555,000 in pre-seed funding round by Wavemaker Partners and Monk’s Hill Ventures along with angel investors

Indian mental health app, heyy has received $555,000 in pre-seed funding round by Wavemaker Partners and Monk’s Hill Ventures along with angel investors Anjan Bhojarajan of HealthifyMe, Deep Bajaj and Sairee Chahal of Sheroes.

Launched in 2021 by Ankit Malhotra, the platform offers a network of mental health professionals, known as Helpers. This preventive mental health platform is for both individuals and corporate employees. The venture claims that the adoption rate is 100% with enterprises and 40% with consumer segments.

Heyy provides its users access to online therapy in multiple languages including Hindi, Bengali and English. They have gone beyond India and have entered 5 time zones and multiple geographies. They believe the best aid for people suffering from mental health problems is to have a chat with the therapist. With their platform, they create that safe space where the individual can take the initial steps towards wellbeing.

Many Indians still get held back by stigma and taboos and don’t seek professional help. An estimated 1 in every 7 people suffer from mental health issues in India. India has more than 200 million citizens suffering from some form of mental illness. This can cause the Indian economy a loss worth $1 trillion by 2030.
