Bengaluru-based healthcare services and teleconsultation startup, Proactive For Her has raised $5.5 million in their Series A round. This round was led by Vertex Ventures SEA and India along with Nexus Venture Partners.

The funds will be used to expand the venture’s digital offerings to widen its online customer base along with launching its offline clinic in Bengaluru. Previously, they had raised $1.2 million in seed funding from Nexus Venture Partners and Enzia Ventures.

Proactive For Her was founded by IIT-Bombay alumna Achitha Jacob. It offers healthcare services and consultations for menstrual and sexual health along with PCOS, hair and skin-related issues. Their USP is that they are a body-positive and queer affirmative startup.

Women have been traditionally at a disadvantage to gaining access to quality health in India. But Proactive For Her wants to change this. They have a liberal, empathetic and patient-centric approach to solving women’s health problems.

They have so far impacted the lives of 5000 women. Their consultation offering starts at a low cost of Rs 500. It has partnered with multiple Indian companies to host webinars to educate women on key feminine health issues and has offered one-on-one coaching to the companies’ female employees.
